Grafts

Soft tissue grafting is a procedure most often done to add firm gingival tissue in areas where the gingiva and bone have receded.  Doing this makes the gingiva and underlying bone less likely to continue to recede.  In addition to fortifying the soft tissue and reducing the potential for more recession, sometimes it is possible to cover exposed tooth root surfaces, which can also enhance the esthetics of the area.
